Objective of the Center

The main purpose of the Research Center for World Buddhist Cultures at Ryukoku University is to find the solution to diverse urgent problems of the present world through the comprehensive study about Buddhism, and intellectually contribute to society. In order to accomplish this purpose, the Center will conduct the interdisciplinary academic research about Buddhism and related religious traditions in each country on the one hand, and provide a platform for international intellectual exchange on the other hand.
